The House Fund is a funnel.
We aren’t a bank. Or an investment strategy.
We are a money laundry.
…
In a prison system, all money is blood money.
Whether we are prisoners or guards (workers or owners), we’re still in prison.
We still have to work to live.
That’s not freedom. It’s slavery.
…
The House Fund frees the money.
We transfer the funds to community builders—people like us, creating spaces like ours—free spaces where we share, rather than sell, with each other.
We do this via peer-to-peer transfers.
Instead of the funds going to for-profit or not-for-profit entities—two ends of the same closed loop—we give them to post-system folks in the Our House network, or to those who would be if they had the resources.
We have a large international network of post-system visionaries, ready to build.
Our personal vision is to buy up buildings in Birmingham and provide additional communal spaces throughout the county.
…
Transfers are 100% transparent.
Our books are open. Just like a family, we share everything.
We also go by the adage ‘the last goes first,’ serving our communities with the greatest needs.
…
We accept funds in whatever way is easiest for you.
It all goes through the same funnel.
Every core member of the Birmingham house is represented below.
